BEYOND Expo 2025 In Macao Centre Stage For Robotics And Human-Centric AI Innovations

The fifth iteration of the BEYOND Expo, which recently commenced at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo, marked a significant gathering of over 800 leading Asian enterprises and technological innovators on Day Two of the event.

This year's event, themed "Empowering Asia, Connecting the World," brought together an impressive array of advancements in sectors such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) centered around human needs, mixed reality, and solutions aimed at climate challenges. Esteemed guests and influential figures from across the continent engaged in discussions on the critical role of international collaboration, the exchange of ideas across cultures, and the globalized efforts required to foster economic growth and investment prospects.

Opening the BGlobal Summit, Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesia Ambassador to China, emphasised the burgeoning economic and investment landscapes within Indonesia and the broader Asian region, aligning with BEYOND Expo's mission to "Empower Asia, Bridging the World." Followed by Takeo Kawamura, Japan's 76th Chief Cabinet Secretary, who underscored the necessity of global partnerships and the evolving Japanese stance on globalisation. Amidst the expo, exhibitors and speakers concentrated on the application of human-centric technological solutions to address worldwide issues.

Innovations in Robotics and AI at BEYOND Expo

The expo showcased a wide array of pioneering technologies from Asian firms across diverse fields, including AI, HealthTech, Clean Energy, Robotics, Lifestyle Tech, FinTech, SportsTech, and more. This impressive display captivated the attention of business leaders, investors, and dignitaries who had traveled to Macao. Demonstrations such as Xpeng Aeroht's AEROHT highlighted the forefront of innovation present at the event.

Throughout the day, the expo hosted various panel discussions covering topics like the Green Building Conference, BGlobal Summit, Japan Tech Forum, Middle East-Asia Forum, Asia-Europe Tech Forum, and the SheTech Summit among others. These sessions facilitated conversations on international industrial design, startup ecosystems, and sustainable development, further embodying the expo's theme of fostering global connectivity and innovation.

For the first time, the event also hosted the Zayed Sustainability Prize China Forum. Named in honour of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, this prestigious award collaborates with the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation (SIEF) to host the Zayed Sustainability Prize Forum.From disruptive technology to catalytic capital, the Zayed Sustainability Prize Forum put a spotlight on bold ideas reshaping our world where thought leaders, innovators, and pioneers are shaping sustainable progress.

The keynote speech was delivered by Shaikh Saoud Ali Almualla, Consul-General of the UAE in Hong Kong, who highlighted the burgeoning relationship between the two countries. From scaling innovation to spotlighting youth-led action in climate, the sessions emphasised the power of collaboration and investment in driving inclusive, real-world solutions.

In a move to encourage further innovation, BEYOND Expo co-founders Jason Ho and Dr. Lu Gang acknowledged 25 companies with the prestigious BEYOND Best Choice awards. The awards, established in 2021, have seen over 1,500 nominations, with more than 200 companies recognized for their groundbreaking contributions. This year, the accolades were awarded based on criteria such as technological innovation, business viability, and societal impact.

Additionally, the BEYOND Expo has been instrumental in supporting emerging startups through the Innovation Awards, aimed at identifying and aiding entrepreneurs with exceptional products or services. The BEYOND Impact Awards seek to commend organisations making significant strides towards the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, encompassing environmental, societal, economic, and technological advancements. Special recognition is also given to Gen Z innovators in China with a view towards Asian markets, as well as awards for excellence in medical technology and innovation in health-related products.
