Record Entries For Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy 2024 In Search Of GT Talent

Aston Martin Racing has unveiled an impressive lineup for its 2024 AMR Driver Academy, marking a significant milestone with a record 32 participants from 13 different countries. This initiative, designed to nurture and accelerate the development of aspiring GT drivers within the Aston Martin Racing partner team network, stands as a testament to the brand's commitment to fostering motorsport talent. The selected drivers will represent at least 14 Aston Martin partner teams across various international endurance series over the year, vying for a chance to secure Aston Martin Racing support and a test drive in the new Vantage GT3 for 2025.

The AMR Driver Academy's judging panel boasts an illustrious trio: Darren Turner, an Aston Martin endurance racing legend; Valentin Hasse Clot, a works driver; and Jonny Adam, a four-time British GT champion. These seasoned professionals will oversee the progress of the participants, who have already embarked on their journey with a comprehensive three-day seminar. This initial phase included an exclusive tour of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team Technology Campus, alongside media training, simulator sessions, and fitness assessments.

Throughout the season, each driver's performance will be meticulously evaluated, with feedback from both their respective teams and Aston Martin Racing engineers playing a crucial role in their development. The academy is not just about finding the fastest driver but nurturing well-rounded talent capable of excelling in all aspects of professional racing. The winner will not only gain financial backing towards their 2025 racing endeavors but also invaluable guidance directly from the factory.

Adam Carter, Head of Endurance at Aston Martin, highlighted the academy's role as a constructive avenue for giving back to the motorsport community and aiding in the growth of emerging talents. The initiative has already proven its worth by producing notable graduates such as Ross Gunn, Tom Canning, and Roman De Angelis, who have gone on to achieve success in their respective careers.

The AMR Driver Academy is more than just a competition; it's a comprehensive platform that equips young drivers with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in the competitive world of GT racing. With its record participation this year, Aston Martin Racing continues to solidify its position as a key player in developing the next generation of motorsport stars.
