ARKET Teams Up With Apartamento For A European Pop-Up Bookshop Tour

Nordic design and lifestyle brand ARKET is collaborating with the Barcelona-based publishing house Apartamento to unveil the next phase of its pop-up bookshop. The initiative kicks off in Berlin with the opening of ARKET's new store in Mitte on March 15. This unique bookshop will feature a carefully curated selection of literature focusing on food, art, and everyday aesthetics, handpicked by the Apartamento team. The pop-up will grace the ARKET Mitte Berlin store until mid-April before moving to Stockholm later in the spring. It will also make appearances in Paris and Barcelona during autumn 2024.

Since its inception in April 2023 at the Commerce Bookshop in Milan during Milan Design Week, the Apartamento Bookshop has expanded its presence with a pop-up store at the Apartamento office in Berlin, along with events in New York and Paris. "The Apartamento Bookshop is a place where our readers and those new to the publishing house can become immersed in our universe. It’s been great to see ARKET embrace the pop-up nature of the Apartamento Bookshop. After it first appeared last year, they’ve helped us define its next iteration, and together we’ve selected some of our most special titles that will go on an exciting European tour throughout 2024," said Robbie Whitehead, Editorial Director at Apartamento Publishing.

The collaboration between ARKET and Apartamento will showcase 14 titles from the Apartamento catalogue. This includes recipe collections from Copenhagen chef Frederik Bille Brahe, memoirs of winemaker Anders Frederik Steen, Dominique Nabokov’s interior photography works documenting the living rooms of Paris and Berlin society, photographic explorations of the homes of Salvador Dalí and Xavier Corberó, monographs on artist Nicola L and designer Miguel Milá, among others. Each purchase from the ARKET and Apartamento Bookshop comes with a complimentary limited-edition tote bag, exclusively available in-store.

This partnership marks five years since ARKET and Apartamento first joined forces, presenting a co-designed T-shirt collection with illustrations by artist Martin Fengel. The ongoing collaboration between these two creative entities continues to bring unique offerings to their audience, blending Nordic design sensibilities with eclectic literary tastes.
