Arkansas Heart Hospital Enhances Patient Care With Oracle Health EHR Expansion

Arkansas Heart Hospital, renowned for its comprehensive approach to cardiovascular health, is enhancing its healthcare delivery by expanding the use of Oracle Health electronic health records (EHR) and RevElate Patient Accounting solutions. This strategic move will encompass its network of ambulatory clinics and two hospitals, building on the foundation of Oracle Fusion Applications for finance and supply chain management already in place. The integration aims to streamline data sharing, elevate patient and staff experiences, and optimize resource allocation to meet patient needs more effectively.

Bruce Murphy, MD, PhD, CEO and founder of Arkansas Heart Hospital, emphasized the role of innovation in setting the institution apart from its competitors. "Oracle's commitment to healthcare transformation aligns with our mission to enhance patient care. This expansion of Oracle technology throughout our network ensures critical patient information is readily available to our staff, which is crucial in time-sensitive situations," he stated.

Oracle EHR Boosts Arkansas Heart Care

With cardiovascular disease incidents escalating in the U.S., projected to cause over 23 million deaths globally by 2030, Arkansas Heart's extended partnership with Oracle Health over the past decade is timely. This collaboration will enable a unified health record for patients across all facilities, improving care delivery efficiency. Additionally, the integration of Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) into their operations promises enhanced productivity, cost reduction, and an improved employee experience.

Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager at Oracle Health and Oracle Life Sciences, highlighted the challenges healthcare networks face with outdated technology that compartmentalizes data and processes. "The intuitive, connected digital health record system provided by Oracle Health, combined with Fusion Applications, will empower the Arkansas Heart team with the information necessary to better serve their patients, clinicians, and staff," Verma explained.

The announcement was made in the context of the rising global burden of cardiovascular diseases, as reported by the World Health Organization. By leveraging Oracle's advanced technology solutions, Arkansas Heart Hospital is not only addressing current healthcare challenges but also positioning itself to embrace future innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) that promise to further enhance operational efficiencies and patient care.

Oracle Health will be showcased at HIMSS in Orlando from March 11 - 15 at booth #2761. Attendees can explore how Oracle Health is creating an open healthcare platform that leverages intelligent tools for a data-driven approach to health experiences, connecting consumers, providers, payers, public health entities, and life sciences organizations.
