Apple Jing'an To Open In Shanghai With Modern Design And Sustainable Features

Apple has officially opened the doors to its newest retail location, Apple Jing'an, situated in the heart of Shanghai near the iconic Jing'an Temple and Jing'an Park. This latest addition to Apple's retail network is not just a store but a fusion of tradition and modernity, designed to blend seamlessly with the historic surroundings of its location. Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of Retail, highlighted that the store's design pays homage to both the traditional and contemporary aspects of Shanghai, offering a shopping experience that is both unique and environmentally conscious.

The newly unveiled Apple Jing'an showcases the company's most recent product offerings, including the iPhone 15 lineup, the innovative MacBook Air equipped with the M3 chip, and a groundbreaking series of Apple Watches that stand as Apple's first carbon-neutral products. The store itself is a testament to Apple's dedication to sustainability, featuring materials such as Padang Light stone sourced from within China to ensure visual and material coherence throughout the premises.

Apple Jing'an Opens in Shanghai

Apple Jing'an is more than just a retail space; it is a hub for customer engagement and learning. The Forum area, equipped with a large video wall, hosts free Today at Apple sessions aimed at inspiring attendees. Additionally, the Boardroom offers a more private setting where entrepreneurs, developers, and business customers can receive personalized advice and training. Staffed by over 150 employees, the store promises personalized assistance to every customer, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

Conveniently located near public transportation options, Apple Jing'an also features a dedicated pickup station for online orders. The opening celebrations were marked by a performance from the youngest members of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, highlighting the intersection of technology and classical music. Over the next six weeks, the store will run a special Today at Apple program focusing on local creators and their crafts.

With a presence in China spanning over three decades, Apple now operates 57 stores across Greater China. The opening of Apple Jing'an, the eighth store in Shanghai alone, underscores Apple's ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional products and services to Chinese customers. This commitment extends beyond retail to support millions of jobs through direct employment, supply chain operations, and the iOS app economy. Apple Jing'an welcomed its first visitors on March 21, 2024, marking another milestone in Apple's long-standing relationship with China.

In addition to its physical retail locations, Chinese customers can access Apple products and support through the Apple Store website. This dual approach ensures that customers in China receive not only exceptional service but also magical experiences that deepen their connection with the brand and local communities.
