Alexandre Sorel Appointed As New CEO Of Stellantis Financial Services For Europe And South America
AMSTERDAM – In a significant corporate move, Stellantis has announced the appointment of Alexandre Sorel as the Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis Financial Services for Europe and South America, starting from April 1, 2024. This strategic decision comes as Remy Bayle, the former CEO, steps down to retire following a commendable 38-year tenure with the company. Sorel, an alumnus of the Reims Management School, brings a wealth of experience from his longstanding career in the automotive finance sector.
Having been a part of the PSA Peugeot Citroën group since 1994, Sorel has occupied several pivotal finance roles before venturing into banking activities in 2009. His notable achievements include his role as Chief Financial Officer of Banque PSA Finance in 2015, where he was instrumental in the acquisition of Opel and Vauxhall financing activities in Europe and fostering a partnership with BNP Paribas. In 2017, Sorel took the helm as CEO of Opel Vauxhall Finance and later led Stellantis Bank in 2023, overseeing operations across Germany, Austria, and the United Kingdom.

Philippe de Rovira, Stellantis Chief Affiliates Officer and member of the Top Executive Team, praised Sorel's proven track record in finance and automotive businesses. He highlighted Sorel's leadership in business transformation and his new role in driving profitable growth while reinforcing Stellantis's leadership in clean vehicle financing. De Rovira also extended heartfelt gratitude towards Remy Bayle for his significant contributions to establishing Stellantis Financial Services for Europe and South America.
