2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 Elevates Electric Pickup Standards With Extended Range
GMC has recently unveiled the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, a premium, limited-edition version of its electric vehicle (EV) pickup, which is set to redefine the standards of electric mobility and luxury. With an enhanced GM-estimated range of 440 miles on a full charge, this model surpasses its initial range estimates, marking a significant milestone in EV technology. The announcement was made in Detroit, highlighting GMC's commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive industry.
Duncan Aldred, the global vice president of Buick and GMC, emphasized the significance of the Denali as an industry icon for over 25 years. The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is described as offering customers an exclusive opportunity to engage with the future of electric vehicles. It stands as a testament to GMC's dedication to combining luxury with cutting-edge technology.

The vehicle's impressive capabilities are attributed to the optimization of the GM Ultium Platform. It boasts a GM-estimated 10,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity and 1,450 pounds of maximum payload, reflecting enhancements from the initial estimates. GMC dealers are currently coordinating with Edition 1 reservation holders to facilitate the ordering process.
Among its standout features is the GMC-exclusive CrabWalk mode, which allows for diagonal vehicle movement at low speeds, enhancing maneuverability in tight spaces. This innovative feature is complemented by a suite of other advanced functionalities including GM-estimated 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Max Power mode, and compatibility with 800 Volt DC Public Fast Charging that enables up to 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes.
The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 also introduces Super Cruise, the industry’s first truly hands-free advanced driver assistance technology with trailering capabilities. This technology is expected to be available on about 750,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2025. Additionally, the vehicle features Air Ride Adaptive Suspension for enhanced comfort and maneuverability, as well as GMC’s first MultiPro MidGate™ for extended load floor length.
Set for delivery starting this summer, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is priced at a final starting MSRP of $99,495 (including $1,995 DFC). This launch not only underscores GMC's leadership in the EV market but also sets new benchmarks for luxury electric pickups.
