Wyakom 4.0 Winners Honoured By Abu Dhabi Department Of Community Development
The Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development has announced the four winning projects of the Wyakom 4.0 initiative, selected after presentations and assessment by a specialised judging committee. The programme’s fourth cycle attracted 199 submissions across three categories, strengthening its position as a community platform for youth-driven solutions aligned with the Year of Community 2025 priorities.
The Department of Community Development confirmed that the successful ideas will receive structured support to move into implementation. The aim is to convert the selected proposals into operational initiatives that enhance social development, promote active participation, and encourage social responsibility across Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with relevant partners from different sectors.

First place in Wyakom 4.0 went to Ask Baseera by Mai Mohammed, a secure digital platform that offers adolescent girls trustworthy health information. The platform provides confidential answers supervised by specialised female doctors, with a focus on improving health awareness and supporting psychological wellbeing for this age group through accessible, private guidance channels.
Second place under the Wyakom 4.0 initiative was awarded to LEGO – Empowering Youth of Determination in the UAE, submitted by Saira Gulamani. The project enables Emirati youth of determination to lead intergenerational learning workshops for senior citizens using LEGO, building communication abilities, leadership experience and community interaction. Yash Chopra received the award on behalf of Saira Gulamani during the ceremony.
Two projects shared third place in the Wyakom 4.0 initiative for the first time. Sanad Squad by Anya Mariam delivers youth-led weekly support circles in Abu Dhabi, overseen by trained mentors, to strengthen adolescents’ social and psychological wellbeing. Heritage with a New Voice by Sara Al Nahdi and Hussain Al Mansoori teaches traditional Emirati crafts to people of determination using sound, touch and artificial intelligence tools.
Through the Wyakom 4.0 initiative, the Department of Community Development highlighted how community ideas can address priority social challenges. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has operated as an inclusive channel for policy-relevant proposals that target quality of life, with promising ideas monitored alongside partner entities for possible activation.
Officials stated that the Wyakom 4.0 initiative also reflects the high awareness and creativity of youth and children in Abu Dhabi. The diversity of entries, covering Growth, Prosperity and Leadership categories, underlined the initiative’s role as an incubator for impactful solutions that empower young participants to support their communities through practical, sustainable projects.
By honouring the Wyakom 4.0 initiative winners and backing implementation, the Department of Community Development is supporting new approaches to wellbeing, inclusion and heritage preservation. The selected projects demonstrate how targeted community engagement can contribute to public policy objectives, while giving young people and people of determination structured opportunities to shape social development across the emirate.
