Sheikh Dr. Abdul Aziz outlined several pillars vital for environmental support efforts: education on environmental matters, raising awareness about conserving natural resources, developing sustainable policies and legislation, leveraging green technologies, and fostering partnerships across private institutions, governments, and civil society. He stressed that healing our planet necessitates a fundamental shift in humanity itself.

Delving into sustainability from an Islamic viewpoint, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Aziz highlighted seven key elements including monotheism, humanity's stewardship of Earth, treating the environment with respect and kindness, moderation in resource usage, justice towards nature, avoiding pollution, and recognizing signs from the Almighty in our surroundings.

The seminar also spotlighted significant outcomes from COP28 hosted by the UAE last year. Among these was the introduction of the "Loss and Damage Fund" initiative aimed at assisting developing nations combat climate change effects. The Green Sheikh underscored the importance of nurturing a generation that values environmental preservation for a sustainable future.

The Muslim Council of Elders' engagement at the book fair extends beyond seminars to presenting over 220 publications in five languages and hosting activities focused on dialogue, tolerance, coexistence, and environmental conservation. Their pavilion in Hall 10, Stand 10 C17 at ADNEC also features an Arabic calligraphy corner and children's activities, enriching the fair's cultural tapestry.

In conclusion, the seminar not only shed light on pressing environmental issues but also offered Islamic perspectives on sustainability. It underscored the collective efforts needed to address climate change challenges while fostering a dialogue between faith leaders, academics, and youth for innovative solutions. The initiatives presented at COP28 and activities at the book fair reflect a commitment to building a resilient future for our planet.
