University Of Sharjah And Zhejiang University Sign MoU To Enhance Academic And Research Collaboration

The University of Sharjah (UoS) and Zhejiang University in China have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their collaboration in academic and research areas. This agreement was sealed during a visit by a delegation from Zhejiang University, headed by Prof. Ren Shaobo, the Council Chairman. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of UoS, welcomed the delegation.

Zhejiang University is one of China's oldest and most esteemed universities, consistently ranking among the world's top 50. It is particularly noted for its strengths in engineering, technology, and medical sciences. During discussions, Prof. Agamy emphasized the importance of building academic and cultural connections between the Arab world and China.

MoU Signed Between University of Sharjah and Zhejiang University

Prof. Agamy provided insights into UoS's diverse academic offerings, which draw around 20,000 students and have produced nearly 50,000 graduates since its inception. He highlighted an Arabic language program tailored for Chinese students as a cultural bridge that underscores Sharjah's dedication to fostering mutual understanding between the two nations.

The newly signed MoU aims to convert academic cooperation into actionable initiatives that will enhance both universities' educational and research environments. Prof. Ren Shaobo expressed appreciation for UoS's hospitality and praised its Arab-Islamic architectural design along with its strong academic reputation both regionally and globally.

Prof. Ren affirmed Zhejiang University's commitment to forming a robust strategic partnership with UoS focused on academic and research collaboration. This partnership aims to promote knowledge exchange and innovation among students and scholars from both institutions.

The memorandum outlines plans for increased cooperation through faculty and researcher exchanges, joint academic projects, student mobility programs, and shared access to resources and publications. It also includes organizing joint conferences, developing shared curricula, and initiating cooperative educational initiatives.

This agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between these two prestigious institutions, aiming to create practical benefits for their educational communities through collaborative efforts.
