Uber's model has significantly empowered drivers by allowing them to boost their earnings by 42% compared to other options. In 2023, this model enabled drivers to collectively earn an additional SAR 270 million. The flexibility offered by Uber, valued at SAR 400 million, has been instrumental in empowering drivers to manage their schedules and attain financial independence. Furthermore, nearly a quarter of these drivers leveraged the app to initiate or grow their businesses, highlighting Uber's role in fostering entrepreneurship.

The Wusool initiative, a partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund, has been pivotal in advancing the participation of Saudi women in the workforce. By providing over 20 million subsidized trips, the initiative has not only supported women's independence but also accelerated the achievement of Vision 2030's goals for women's labor market participation, a milestone that was surpassed in 2023.

Uber's integration into the daily lives of Saudis is reflected in the 88% of users who appreciate the app for its ease of use, and the 90% who value its safety features. The app saves users an estimated 2.5 million hours, showcasing its efficiency over traditional transportation methods. Additionally, 71% of riders consider Uber the safest option for late-night travel, highlighting its importance in ensuring the safety of its users, particularly women.

The app's introduction of features such as Women Preference, Uber Reserve, and Uber X-Share underscores its commitment to sustainability, safety, and inclusivity. These initiatives align with the Kingdom's goals for a sustainable future and carbon neutrality by 2060, emphasizing Uber’s role in promoting sustainable mobility.

Since commencing operations in Riyadh in 2014, Uber has expanded to major cities like Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, and Khobar. This expansion reflects the app's integral role in facilitating mobility for millions of Saudis.

The introduction of innovative features, including the "Female Preference" option, has positioned the Kingdom as the largest market for female Uber drivers in the Middle East and Africa. Moreover, partnerships like the one with the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) exemplify Uber’s efforts to meet the evolving needs of consumers and businesses in the Kingdom.

Over a decade of operation in Saudi Arabia, Uber has not only become a critical part of daily commuting but also a catalyst for economic growth and innovation.

Youssef Abouseif, General Manager of Uber in Saudi Arabia, said, "Over the past decade, Uber has helped shape modern mobility and created tangible economic opportunities for thousands of people across the Kingdom.

"This report reaffirms our commitment to supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious growth and innovation goals, in line with Vision 2030.
