UAEU And Ibn Haldun University Collaborate To Establish Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Centre For Arabic Language In Türkiye

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has partnered with Ibn Haldun University (IHU) in Türkiye to establish the "Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre for Arabic Language." This initiative honours H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's dedication to fostering UAE-Türkiye cultural ties and her commitment to promoting the Arabic language globally.

The centre will offer specialised programmes for teaching Arabic to Turkish and international students. It will also organise training courses, workshops, and support research in Arabic language and culture. The aim is to create a platform for cultural dialogue, enhancing mutual understanding between the Arab world and Türkiye through events that highlight Arab culture.

New Centre for Arabic Language Established in Türkiye

Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of UAEU, signed the agreement with Professor Atilla Arkan, President of IHU. Nusseibeh emphasised that naming the centre after Sheikha Fatima reflects her vision in promoting Arabic internationally. He stated that the centre would act as a cultural beacon, strengthening Arabic's presence and encouraging dialogue among nations.

Nusseibeh highlighted UAEU’s dedication to fostering global cultural dialogue and expanding educational access. The centre will serve as a bridge for academic collaboration between the UAE and Türkiye, promoting cultural and intellectual exchange. It will provide a comprehensive educational environment for those interested in Arabic language studies in Türkiye.

Professor Atilla Arkan expressed pride in establishing an institution named after a respected figure in social work. He praised Sheikha Fatima's initiatives in advancing Arabic language and culture globally. Arkan described the partnership as a pioneering step towards reinforcing Arabic’s status as a scientific and cultural language among academics in Türkiye.

The UAEU is committed to supporting the centre's activities to ensure sustainable development of Arabic language learning in Türkiye. This effort aims to enhance its global academic presence while providing unique opportunities for those interested in studying Arabic language and culture.
