UAE And Turkmenistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations Across Vital Sectors
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and ADNOC's Group CEO, visited Turkmenistan with Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State. The delegation included UAE government and private sector representatives, Dr. Mohammed Al Ariqi from the Presidential Court, and Ahmed Alhay Alhameli, UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan.
The delegation met Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, as well as President Serdar Berdimuhamedow. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other UAE leaders to the Turkmen President.
During discussions with Turkmen officials, the focus was on enhancing cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and other key sectors. Opportunities for joint investments were also explored. Meetings were held with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan along with other senior officials.
The President of Turkmenistan reciprocated by sending his greetings to UAE leadership and expressed a strong interest in developing bilateral relations across various sectors for mutual benefit. This visit underscores both nations' commitment to strengthening ties in economic, cultural, tourism, investment, and social areas.
A significant outcome of this visit was the signing of a new Production Sharing Contract (PSC) involving ADNOC's XRG, PETRONAS, and the Turkmenistan State Enterprise Hazarnebit with State Concern Turkmennebit for offshore "Block I" gas fields. Additionally, XRG and PETRONAS entered into a long-term Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with State Concern Turkmengas.
This visit highlights both countries' dedication to advancing cooperation for mutual benefit. It reflects their shared vision for progress in various sectors that will benefit both nations' peoples.
