A trade delegation from the UAE, led by Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, visited Uzbekistan to explore business opportunities. Dr. Al Dhaheri is a Board Member of the Federation of UAE Chambers and First Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meetings occurred during the UAE-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent from 14th to 16th October, with 200 representatives from both public and private sectors participating.
The forum was organised by the Federation of UAE Chambers in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uzbekistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE. Dr. Al Dhaheri stressed the importance of Central Asian markets for UAE Chambers, focusing on enhancing commercial ties by facilitating Emirati businesses' global expansion.

Dr. Al Dhaheri noted that trade relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan have significantly improved recently. This growth is evident in increased investments across various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and logistics. The trade exchange between both nations has reached approximately US$1.9 billion, positioning the UAE as one of Uzbekistan’s major trading partners.
Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, mentioned that six agreements were signed with UAE business entities. These agreements have led to over 320 Emirati-owned companies operating in Uzbekistan, including more than 120 joint ventures and over 200 fully foreign-owned firms across different sectors.
Rasulov highlighted that Uzbekistan has adopted an open economic policy to promote entrepreneurship by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and removing barriers to their operations. This approach aims to foster a conducive environment for business growth.
The forum included presentations from officials and experts in economics, investment, and logistics in Uzbekistan. They showcased the benefits of doing business in Uzbekistan while addressing questions from members of the UAE trade delegation.
Bilateral Meetings
During the event, over 125 bilateral meetings were held between the UAE delegation and Uzbek officials, experts, businesspeople, and investors. These meetings aimed to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new avenues for collaboration between both countries.
