Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Honours Winners Of UAE Tour's Thrilling Sixth Edition
In a prestigious ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Frontline Heroes Office, celebrated the victors of the UAE Tour's sixth edition. This event saw elite cyclists from around the globe compete in a challenging race that spanned from Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa to Jebel Hafeet, covering a total distance of 161km. Emerging triumphant in this edition was Lennert Van Eetvelt of Lotto Dstny, who secured his victory ahead of Ben O'Connor from Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team and Pello Bilbao of Bahrain Victorious.
Lennert Van Eetvelt expressed his astonishment and joy at clinching the title, stating, "Unbelievable! I can't believe it. This morning everyone was telling me to give everything, try and go for GC. I was like let's stay realistic, there are guys like Jay Vine. But actually, what I've was what we'd planned. It's just hard to believe that I pulled it off." He further elaborated on his strategy and mindset during the race, "I expected the race would be harder before the last two kilometres. But I just went for all or nothing. On Wednesday at Jebel Jais I was disappointed that I waited too much so today I went early enough." Van Eetvelt also reflected on his progress and aspirations following this significant win, "Winning GC, even if it's I'm so happy. This winter I knew I had made big improvements. Now I hope this is the beginning of something big."

The UAE Tour has become a notable event in the cycling world, attracting top talent and providing thrilling competitions for fans globally. The success of participants like Van Eetvelt not only highlights their personal achievements but also underscores the tour's role in fostering competitive spirit and excellence in sports. As these athletes continue to push their limits and strive for greatness, their stories become an inspiration for many, marking the beginning of potentially illustrious careers in professional cycling.
