UAE Team Emirates Riders Shine With Podium Places At Historic Milano-Torino Race
In a thrilling display of endurance and strategy, UAE Team Emirates showcased their prowess at the Milano-Torino, narrowly missing out on the top spot but securing impressive positions with three riders among the top four. This event, renowned for being the oldest classic on the professional cycling calendar, witnessed a captivating race that culminated in a nail-biting finish.
Alberto Bettiol of EF Education Easypost clinched victory after launching a decisive attack on the penultimate climb to Prascorsano, 30km from the finish line. His effort paid off as he managed to stay ahead of the chasing pack until the end. Hot on his heels was Jan Christen, a 19-year-old talent who achieved his best result in the senior ranks by finishing second. Christen made a bold move in the last 3km but couldn't bridge the gap to Bettiol in time. Marc Hirschi secured the third position, closely followed by teammate Diego Ulissi in fourth.

The action doesn't stop for UAE Team Emirates as they face a packed schedule with three races over the next three days. The Grand Prix de Denain is up first, where Sebastian Molano aims to replicate his historic win from 2023, becoming the first Colombian to win this race. The team's momentum continues at the Bredene Koksijde Classic on 15th March before taking on Milano-San Remo. Tadej Pogačar returns to competition at Milano-San Remo after his impressive solo victory at Strade Bianche, where he broke away from the peloton 80km from the finish line and maintained his lead. Pogačar will be joined by Marc Hirschi and Brandon McNulty, both of whom are coming off strong performances at Milano Torino and Paris-Nice, respectively.
This series of races presents an opportunity for UAE Team Emirates to build on their recent successes and continue their pursuit of victory in some of cycling's most prestigious events. With a blend of experienced riders and young talent, the team is well-positioned to make their mark and achieve further success in the coming days.
