UAE President Engages In Talks With Kuwait's Foreign Minister To Enhance Bilateral Relations
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received His Excellency Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, the Foreign Minister of Kuwait. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. His Excellency conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, along with his best wishes for the UAE's continued progress and prosperity.
In response, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed asked the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister to pass on his greetings to the Emir. He wished him continued health and happiness and expressed hopes for further development and growth for Kuwait and its people. The discussion focused on the close and historic ties between the two nations.
The meeting explored ways to enhance cooperation in various areas to meet their peoples’ aspirations for development and prosperity. Both sides highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that strengthen Gulf cooperation, especially given regional and global challenges. This aims to advance shared interests of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and contribute to regional security and stability.
The UAE President and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister also exchanged views on recent developments in the region. They discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern. The dialogue underscored their commitment to addressing these challenges collaboratively.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both countries. From the UAE side, attendees included His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; among other senior officials.
The Kuwaiti delegation accompanying the Foreign Minister included several Sheikhs and senior officials as well. This high-level participation underscores the significance both nations place on their bilateral relations.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration across various sectors. They emphasised that such cooperation is crucial for achieving long-term stability and prosperity in the region.
The discussions also touched upon supporting all initiatives that bolster Gulf cooperation amidst current challenges facing both regions globally. This collective effort aims to advance shared interests within GCC countries while contributing significantly to regional security.
