UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Recognises Ten Inspirational Individuals At Abu Dhabi Awards Ceremony
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently recognised ten individuals for their significant contributions to the UAE community during the 12th Abu Dhabi Awards. Held at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi, this event celebrates acts of selflessness and generosity that have positively impacted society.
The Abu Dhabi Awards, established two decades ago, reflect the UAE's values of giving and appreciation. Inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, these awards honour those who embody unity and social harmony. Since its inception, 110 people from 18 nationalities have been recognised for their contributions in various fields.
This year's awards coincided with the Year of Community, reinforcing the UAE's commitment to humanitarian values. The ceremony highlighted stories of honourees, showing that giving transcends age, nationality, or profession. "Honouring these individuals reflects the nation’s commitment to recognising those who uphold integrity, unity, and social responsibility," stated H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Among the attendees were notable figures such as H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Families of honourees and past award recipients also attended, celebrating the achievements of these inspirational individuals.
Obaid Kenish Al Hameli was honoured for his philanthropic efforts in community development. Despite personal challenges, he launched initiatives like the Obaid Bin Kenish Al Hameli Award for Academic Excellence in 1998 to promote education in Al Dhafra.
Moza Mohamed Al Hafiti has dedicated over 20 years to education at Zayed Educational Complex in Dibba Al-Fujairah. Her innovative projects include an Interactive Digital Prayer Rug and a Digital Library during COVID-19. She has received numerous accolades for her educational impact.
Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi's career spans government and philanthropy. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 2006 and contributed significantly to cultural initiatives like establishing the Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research.
Legacy of Generosity
The late Mohamed Ibrahim Obaidallah was celebrated for his dedication to healthcare and charity work. He founded the Obaidallah Geriatric Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah in 2009 and supported numerous medical facilities across the UAE.
Salem Hamad Al Mansoori and Fatima Majed Al Mansoori turned personal tragedy into hope by donating their daughter Zahia's organs, saving three lives. Their decision raised awareness about organ donation in the UAE.
Hamama Obaid Khamis devoted her life to traditional healing practices in Al Dhaid. For over seven decades, she provided care without seeking payment, embodying values of service and generosity.

Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal has enriched UAE's cultural landscape through initiatives like founding Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. His contributions extend globally through advisory roles with institutions like Tate and Guggenheim Foundation.
The late David Heard played a pivotal role in documenting UAE's transformation from a pearl diving economy to a modern nation. His extensive collection donated to New York University Abu Dhabi preserves this history.

The late Sultan Ali Al Owais was a patron of culture whose legacy includes founding prestigious literary prizes and supporting infrastructure projects like dams in Fujairah and Ajman.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak has significantly contributed to Abu Dhabi's development over two decades. As Managing Director of Mubadala Investment Company since 2002, he exemplifies leadership values that inspire future generations.
