UAE And Pakistan Convene Second Session Of Joint Consular Committee To Enhance Cooperation
The United Arab Emirates and Pakistan recently held the second session of their Joint Consular Committee in Islamabad. The meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance cooperation in various consular areas, focusing on safeguarding and advancing the interests of both nations' citizens. This session was co-chaired by Faisal Eissa Lutfi from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Shehryar Akbar Khan from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the discussions, both parties highlighted the importance of providing exceptional consular services that are citizen-focused and adaptable to the changing needs of UAE and Pakistani communities. They explored various consular matters, follow-up mechanisms, and initiatives aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in this field.

Faisal Lutfi emphasised that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Muhammad Ishaq Dar. This agreement signifies the UAE's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Pakistan. It aligns with the UAE leadership's focus on building strong ties with friendly nations and expanding collaboration across multiple sectors.
Lutfi further explained that this Memorandum marks a significant milestone in developing consular relations between the two countries. The establishment of the Consular Committee aims to improve the efficiency, quality, and inclusivity of consular services, thereby protecting citizens' interests and supporting sustainable development goals.
The UAE-Pakistan relationship is built on a long history of mutual respect and shared interests.
