UAE National Team Secures Total Of 11 Medals At 2025 World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship In Thailand

The UAE jiu-jitsu national team (U16), backed by Mubadala Investment Company, has increased its medal count to 11 at the 2025 World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Bangkok, Thailand. The event runs from 8th to 14th November. This achievement follows the girls' under-16 team securing four additional medals on Saturday, adding to the seven medals won by the boys' team on the first day.

Sara Farook earned a silver medal in the 48 kg category. Meanwhile, Mathail Alhammadi and Ghaiaheb Alrashdi each took home bronze in the 36 kg division, and Maitha Alkarbi also secured a bronze in the 40 kg division. These results bring the UAE team's total in the under-16 division to 11 medals: two gold, three silver, and six bronze.

Abdulla Al Zaabi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, commended the Emirati girls for their remarkable performance on day two of the competition. He noted that their skill and discipline underscore the ongoing growth of women's jiu-jitsu in the UAE. This progress is supported by both national leadership and the Federation's dedication to fostering Emirati talent.

Al Zaabi stated, "This strong start gives us great motivation to maintain our momentum in the under-18 and under-21 categories and to increase our medal tally further. It also reinforces the UAE’s standing among the leading jiu-jitsu nations on the world stage." His comments reflect optimism for continued success as they aim for more medals in upcoming categories.

Sara Farook expressed her joy after winning silver: "Standing on the podium at the 2025 World Championship and winning silver is a dream come true. The matches were tough, but with guidance from our coaches and support from my teammates, I stayed focused on representing UAE well." She remains determined to strive for gold in future events.

Boys' Team Anticipation

The championship will proceed with competitions for boys' under-18 category starting Monday, 10th November. The UAE national team aims to build upon its current success and further expand its medal tally during these upcoming matches.
