UAE Muay Thai Open Championship Concludes Successfully With 235 Athletes Participating

The UAE Muay Thai Open Championship recently wrapped up at Dubai's Festival Arena, marking a successful three-day event. Organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, it attracted 235 athletes from 44 clubs worldwide. This participation highlights the Federation's commitment to promoting Muay Thai as a sport.

The championship's final day featured 38 exciting matches, energising the crowd with enthusiastic support. Competitors from countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Libya, Iraq, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, and China joined local athletes. The event provided significant experience and skill enhancement opportunities for all participants.

Abu Dhabi Muay Thai emerged as the top performer with 13 medals: 7 golds, 4 silvers, and 2 bronzes. UAM followed closely with 10 medals: 7 golds, 1 silver, and 2 bronzes. Colosseum Muay Thai also secured 13 medals: 5 golds, 6 silvers, and 2 bronzes.

Distinguished guests included Abdulrahman Alyaser from Libya; Mohamed El Zourk El Sharif of the Arab Muay Thai Federation; Tariq Al Muhairi and Ali Khouri from the Federation Board; Saeed Al Muhairi of Abu Dhabi Sports Council; and Jamshidbek Bekmurodov from Uzbekistan.

Abdulla Saeed Al Neyadi expressed pride in the championship's success. He stated: "The success of the UAE Muay Thai Open Championship brings immense pride. The strong regional and international participation, along with local clubs, underscores the rising interest in Muay Thai and the dedication of clubs to our agenda."

Al Neyadi further noted that this event strengthens the UAE’s position as a key centre for Muay Thai. He said: "With 235 athletes from 44 clubs, this championship enriches the Federation’s calendar, reinforcing the UAE’s status as a central hub for Muay Thai. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners and thank all competitors for their role in advancing Muay Thai and nurturing national talent across all categories and weight classes."

The championship not only showcased athletic prowess but also fostered cultural exchange among participants. The diverse representation emphasised the growing global appeal of Muay Thai while enhancing its development within the region.
