UAE MoIAT Rolls Out Global Training For Industrial Tech Transformation
The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has successfully concluded the inaugural session of the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) Global Assessor Training Program. The event, which hosted 22 participants from nine countries, aimed to enhance the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies across the region.
Over three days, representatives from government entities, regional bodies, and private companies were introduced to the ITTI framework. This framework serves as the region’s first digital maturity index, designed to promote 4IR solutions and sustainable practices within the industrial ecosystem. The ITTI Global Assessor Training Program seeks to certify assessors internationally, transforming them into ambassadors for the ITTI framework.

Launched by MoIAT in 2023 under the Technology Transformation Program, ITTI is a key component of Operation 300bn. This initiative aims to increase manufacturing value added (MVA) to AED 300 billion by 2031 while supporting the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative. The ITTI framework is a comprehensive tool for assessing digital maturity and sustainable practices in manufacturing.
The framework aims to enhance industrial productivity, efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability by enabling advanced technology adoption and Industry 4.0 (I4.0) solutions. Internationally, ITTI aspires to be a global standard for measuring technological maturity in the industrial sector, guiding manufacturers and other ecosystem partners in designing effective digital transformation initiatives.
Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, highlighted the transformative potential of 4IR technologies. "Many industrial companies are still in their digital infancy and lack the awareness, knowledge, or capital to raise digital maturity. The ITTI enables these companies by creating a technology transformation roadmap," she said.
Al Amiri also noted that MoIAT is working to internationalize the ITTI framework and promote knowledge exchange on 4IR best practices globally. This initiative aligns with MoIAT’s commitment to sustainable industrial development and positions the UAE as a key member of the global industrial community.
Program Achievements
To date, more than 400 companies in the UAE have been assessed by over 40 local and international assessors. In 2023 alone, these companies committed AED 600 million towards technology adoption. The ITTI Industry 4.0 Pulse Report for 2023, launched at the Make it in the Emirates Forum, highlighted significant progress.
Last year saw the implementation of 650 I4.0 projects under the ITTI program. Notably, 75 percent of assessed companies created a digital transformation roadmap. Companies assessed under ITTI typically see a 15 percent improvement in key performance indicators (KPIs) and are 1.7 times more likely to target sustainability dimensions.
Global Assessor Training Program
The participants in the Global Assessor Training Program reviewed various elements of ITTI, including I4.0 strategy and governance. They also examined case studies to understand how ITTI is driving sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness across the industrial value chain.
The participants hailed from GCC countries as well as Egypt, Rwanda, India, and Malaysia. This diverse representation underscores the program's aim to standardize assessment practices globally and develop I4.0 ambassadors who can foster international collaboration on industrial transformation.
