UAE Model Offers Alternative Path For Emerging Technologies, According To Amini CEO Kate Kallot

The UAE has embraced new technologies while honouring local traditions and ensuring data sovereignty, according to Kate Kallot, CEO and Founder of Amini. "The UAE has done it very well, where they understood how to bring emerging technologies into the country, while respecting local context, respecting local people, agencies and dignity, and ensuring that data remains sovereign," she stated. She believes this approach could guide many countries globally.

Kallot emphasised the importance of aligning investments with local innovators in Africa and other regions. These innovators can transform projects into sustainable ventures. This alignment is crucial as the UAE expands its presence in African markets and supports local ecosystems. Her message to the UAE is that it is already on the right path.

UAE's Alternative Approach to Emerging Technologies

Recognised by TIME as one of the 100 Most Influential People in AI, Kallot praised the UAE's leadership in technology adoption. She noted that the UAE's strategy respects communities and maintains data sovereignty. This model can serve as a blueprint for other nations within the global majority.

The BRIDGE Summit 2025 commenced today in Abu Dhabi, attracting over 60,000 participants from various sectors. The event includes more than 400 international speakers and 300 exhibitors, marking it as the region’s largest media and content gathering.

Kallot participated as a speaker at the summit, discussing AI's role in emerging economies and diplomacy. She highlighted that media, diplomacy, and technology are now interconnected fields. The summit provides a platform for dialogue among these sectors at a time when their influence on geopolitics is significant.

She expressed hope that discussions at the summit would lead to tangible outcomes. "Unlike many conferences where discussions end without follow-up," she said, stakeholders should work towards actionable frameworks for future implementation.

The BRIDGE Summit aims to foster collaboration among creators, media professionals, artists, producers, publishers, entrepreneurs, investors, universities, and research centres. It serves as a vital space for exchanging ideas and shaping future developments in media and technology.

Kallot stressed that global investments should be aligned with local expertise to ensure long-term success. By involving local innovators who understand their environments, projects can evolve from temporary initiatives into enduring solutions.
