UAE Minister Of Industry Dr. Sultan Al Jaber Leads GCC Trade And Industry Meetings In Qatar For Regional Integration
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, led the country's delegation at the 53rd GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee meeting in Qatar. This participation underscores the UAE's dedication to fostering strong ties with GCC nations and promoting sustainable economic integration in the Gulf region. The delegation included Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Omar Al Suwaidi, Dr. Farah Al Zarouni, and Osama Amir Fadhel.
The meeting focused on several key issues, such as establishing standards for Gulf products and reviewing a whitepaper on industrial integration among GCC countries. Additionally, a plan for implementing a unified industrial development strategy was discussed. The Gulf Industrial Excellence Award program was also highlighted, with various companies being acknowledged for their achievements.

Qatar hosted these meetings as part of its role as chair of the current GCC session, aiming to enhance collaboration among member states. The gatherings provided an opportunity to share expertise, discuss industrial legislation developments, and expand the GCC's influence in international forums. Dr. Al Jaber expressed gratitude to Qatar for hosting and emphasized the importance of strong ties among GCC countries.
Dr. Al Jaber conveyed greetings from the UAE leadership and reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening strategic relations within the Gulf, particularly in industry, trade, and investment sectors. He stated: "The GCC has created a model for strengthening economic and development partnerships while also enhancing private sector participation in sustainable economic growth."
He further noted that strategic partnerships with the private sector are crucial for industrial growth and competitiveness. These partnerships ensure supply chain sustainability and provide incentives to attract investment. Dr. Al Jaber added: "The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology is committed to enhancing the role of the industrial and technological sectors in the national economy through integration and by leveraging innovation."
On the sidelines of these meetings, Dr. Al Jaber met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani from Qatar to explore ways to boost industrial integration. He also discussed upcoming committee meetings with Abdullah Fakhro from Bahrain regarding industrial cooperation and partnerships.
Recognition of Industrial Achievements
The 8th Ministerial Committee on Standardization took place on 31st October in Doha under HE Dr. Al Zeyoudi's chairmanship, attended by Dr. Al Zarouni, Al Suwaidi, and Fadhel. Discussions centered around adopting strategies from the GCC Standardization Organization along with strategic plans in standardisation fields.
During these sessions, several companies were recognised for their accomplishments in applying Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. Five Emirati companies received accolades: Emirates Steel Arkan (Metals & Glass), Borouge (Chemicals & Polymers), Abu Dhabi Medical Devices (Pharmaceuticals & Medical Equipment), RAK Ceramics (Building Materials), and IFFCO (F&B).
The meetings underscored efforts towards regional cooperation supporting ambitious national goals across member states while focusing on sustainable development through industry growth as a key economic pillar.
