UAE And South Africa Initials Record Of Discussions To Enhance Air Services Agreement

The UAE, through the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has initialled a Record of Discussions with South Africa. This document includes a protocol to amend parts of their Bilateral Air Services Agreement. The agreement grants more operating rights to national carriers, enhancing air connectivity and cooperation between the two countries.

New amendments in the protocol introduce an article on aviation security. This aims to improve standards and coordination between the UAE and South Africa. The Code Share article has also been updated to align with international standards, fostering better cooperation between national carriers and offering more travel options.

UAE and South Africa Discuss Air Services Agreement

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of GCAA, stated, "The UAE is keen on strengthening its relations with international partners, and we look forward to opening new horizons of cooperation with the Republic of South Africa in a way that serves mutual interests and supports the sustainable growth of the sector."

This development highlights the UAE's dedication to enhancing its global aviation connections. By expanding bilateral air transport relations, the UAE aims to solidify its position as a leading global aviation hub.
