UAE Floating Hospital In Al Arish Receives Third Batch Of Indonesian Medical Professionals For Humanitarian Efforts
The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, has welcomed the third group of Indonesian medical professionals. This team includes 25 doctors and nurses from various fields. Their arrival is part of ongoing cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia under "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3." This initiative aims to enhance the hospital's capacity to manage critical cases effectively.
The collaboration between the UAE and Indonesia highlights their dedication to humanitarian efforts. The Indonesian team's presence boosts the Emirati staff's efforts, expanding healthcare services to meet global standards. This partnership strengthens both nations' commitment to providing relief and support in humanitarian fields.
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Director of the UAE Floating Hospital, emphasised the significance of this collaboration. He stated that the Indonesian team's arrival reflects the strong historical ties between the UAE and Indonesia. Their joint efforts aim to support Palestinian individuals from Gaza, showcasing a shared commitment to humanitarian causes.
The UAE Floating Hospital stands as a key humanitarian project by the UAE in the region. It was launched on 23rd February 2024, with a mission to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to those injured from Gaza. The hospital is equipped with 100 beds, advanced operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology, and laboratory departments.
Since its opening, the hospital has delivered over 8,600 medical services and conducted more than 3,300 surgeries across various specialties. Additionally, it has provided over 3,700 physiotherapy sessions and fitted 23 prosthetic limbs for Palestinian patients from Gaza. These efforts highlight its role in offering essential medical care.
This initiative underscores the UAE’s dedication to its humanitarian mission. By extending aid to affected communities and strengthening international partnerships, it aims to provide urgent medical support during crises. The collaboration with Indonesia further enhances these efforts by broadening healthcare capabilities at the floating hospital.
