UAE Cybersecurity Council And NCEMA Organise Interactive Sessions On Cybersecurity At Expo 2025 Osaka
The UAE Cybersecurity Council and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) took part in the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan. The pavilion has attracted over three million visitors since its opening, becoming one of the most popular national pavilions at the event. It offered an immersive experience under the theme "From the Earth to the Ether," highlighting the UAE's heritage and vision for global progress.
Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, noted that Expo 2025 aims to unify efforts and promote international expertise exchange for efficient responses to challenges. He emphasized proactive strategies and advanced technologies like AI for risk prediction. Al Neyadi also highlighted Expo 2025 Japan as a crucial platform for leaders and experts to tackle threats, share insights, and develop practical solutions.

The UAE Pavilion served as a unique platform for dialogues on various achievements. The Cybersecurity Council and NCEMA organized interactive sessions on cybersecurity and digital threats. These sessions stressed enhancing international knowledge exchange on cybersecurity challenges and strategies to boost global crisis preparedness.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, emphasized a forward-looking approach to counter cyber threats using AI and machine learning. He highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, intelligence-sharing, and policy alignment to address cross-border cyber risks. Dr. Al Kuwaiti also advocated embedding resilience into core operations of governments and businesses.
A key session by the Council focused on Cyber Diplomacy and Global Cooperation Models. It highlighted international efforts to promote regional collaboration in digital spaces against cyber threats. Participants shared examples of agreements enhancing digital security through cross-border cooperation networks.
NCEMA organized two specialized sessions: one on Community Engagement in Emergencies, Crises, and Disasters; another on Resilient Infrastructure and Business Continuity. These sessions showcased NCEMA’s initiatives to foster community involvement during crises and enhance infrastructure readiness amid potential threats.
Preparing for Emerging Threats
The Council hosted a session titled "National Cybersecurity: Preparing for AI and IoT Threats." This session examined multi-level collaboration efforts aimed at strengthening preparedness for emerging cyber risks. Hundreds of specialists participated in exploring defense strategies, policy frameworks, and case studies from ransomware mitigation to protecting critical infrastructure.
This joint participation by the Cybersecurity Council and NCEMA underscores the UAE’s commitment to developing innovative solutions for security challenges. It reinforces its role as a global partner in fostering international collaboration toward building safer societies.
