UAE Cybersecurity Council Enhances National Readiness Against Future Quantum Threats
The UAE Cybersecurity Council has announced significant progress in its post-quantum readiness efforts. This development was highlighted at CyberQ 2025, held in Abu Dhabi on November 26 and 27. The advancement is attributed to the Council's expanded collaboration with QuantumGate, a company supported by ATRC that focuses on quantum-safe security measures.
The partnership between the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate, a subsidiary of VentureOne, aims to enhance the UAE’s preparedness for future quantum decryption threats. This collaboration will focus on strengthening the nation’s ability to anticipate and mitigate risks posed by emerging quantum capabilities. By advancing readiness across key sectors, the UAE is taking early steps toward large-scale cryptographic migration.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, stated, "Our approach is clear: anticipate, not react. With QuantumGate’s advanced capabilities supporting our national efforts, the UAE is building quantum-safe defenses today to ensure our critical infrastructure remains secure the moment quantum decryption becomes possible."
The next phase of this collaboration will translate national strategy into practical readiness through three main programs: the National Information Assurance Programme, the National Cybersecurity Index Platform, and the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme. These initiatives aim to strengthen baseline security requirements and improve resilience across both public and private sectors.
Through these programs, vulnerable cryptographic assets will be identified and migration pathways prioritised. The partnership will guide entities with long-term data protection needs by establishing clear baselines and sector-wide guidance. This approach positions the UAE among the first nations to implement a coordinated model for post-quantum security.
Technological Integration
The partnership will also integrate a broader suite of QuantumGate technologies into national initiatives. These include tools like the Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT) for full visibility of cryptographic assets and QSphere, a VPN designed to protect sensitive data. Additionally, Salina and Secure VMI extend protection beyond post-quantum threats into wider cybersecurity needs.
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, commented on this progress: "Our work with the Cybersecurity Council has matured from foundational research into full-scale deployment. TII’s advanced cryptography and QuantumGate’s security platforms are now being implemented across national infrastructures, ensuring the UAE is protected against emerging quantum-era vulnerabilities."
Global Leadership in Cybersecurity
This long-term collaboration underscores the UAE’s leadership in post-quantum cybersecurity on both regional and global stages. It highlights how close alignment between government bodies and technology providers is crucial for building a secure digital foundation for future challenges.
By advancing quantum-safe readiness at scale through coordinated implementation efforts, both entities are enhancing national resilience. This joint effort strengthens the nation’s ability to safeguard sensitive information effectively while reinforcing its position as a leader in cybersecurity advancements worldwide.
