UAE Assumes Chairmanship Of UNDRR Support Group For 2025-2026 Term
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Support Group has unanimously endorsed Ambassador Jamal Jama Al Musharakh as its Chair for the 2025–2026 term. Al Musharakh, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, will take over from Ethiopia, which holds the position for 2024–2025. This appointment is notable as it marks the first time an Arab nation assumes this role.
