Tadej Pogačar Dominates Final Tour De France Time Trial To Extend Lead
Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates-XRG achieved consecutive stage victories at this year's Tour de France. Pogačar claimed the stage 13 individual time trial, extending his lead in the Yellow Jersey to over four minutes ahead of Jonas Vingegaard from Visma-Lease a Bike.
Pogačar's choice of equipment set him apart from his competitors. He opted for a road bike instead of a time trial bike for stage 13. Riding the Colnago Y1Rs, known for its aerodynamic design, he demonstrated that his decision was effective with another impressive performance.

The victory in the time trial marked Pogačar's 30th Grand Tour stage win and made him the youngest rider to achieve 21 Tour de France stage wins. This success also brought UAE Team Emirates-XRG their fourth stage win in this Tour.
From the first intermediate time check, Pogačar's victory seemed likely. Despite the flat section favouring time trial bikes, he was faster than any other rider. His performance remained strong as he approached the Peyragudes climb with determination.
Jonas Vingegaard also delivered an impressive performance by catching Remco Evenepoel, who started two minutes ahead of him. However, Pogačar had to push beyond limits to secure another stage win.
Pogačar excelled on the climb, maintaining an average speed of over 23kph uphill. This effort gave him a 28-second advantage over Vingegaard in the last 7km, with their final time gap reaching 36 seconds.
Adam Yates' Contribution
Adam Yates, Pogačar’s teammate at UAE Team Emirates-XRG, also performed well by finishing eighth on the day. As the race progresses, Yates' climbing skills will be crucial for Pogačar’s pursuit of a fourth Tour de France title.
Pogačar's achievements highlight his dominance and strategic choices during this year's Tour de France. His ability to adapt and excel under pressure continues to impress fans and competitors alike.
