MoHAP Collaborates With MoI In Summer Without Accidents Campaign To Enhance Public Health And Safety
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) have collaborated on the 'Summer Without Accidents' campaign. This initiative aims to enhance public awareness about safety measures that prevent road accidents and health issues due to high summer temperatures. The campaign's goal is to foster a society that prioritises sustainable health and safety.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector at MoHAP, highlighted the ministry's commitment to this campaign. He stated that their efforts are part of a joint strategy with MoI to improve road safety and reduce health risks associated with accidents and heat. Al Rand emphasised the importance of simple actions that can significantly impact public health, ensuring a safe summer for everyone.

The campaign aligns with the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031, which includes impactful initiatives and partnerships with federal and local entities. These efforts aim to make prevention a routine practice, safeguarding individual health while reducing healthcare system burdens. The strategy focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles, increasing prevention awareness, and supporting healthy choices during travel, work, and mobility.
Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council at MoI, reiterated their support for initiatives enhancing community protection. He noted that these innovative efforts reflect the nation's vision of creating a preventive society with lasting security and safety. By reducing road accidents and promoting safety for the new school year, they aim to protect current and future generations.
MoHAP's involvement in the campaign included field awareness activities conducted through its offices in the Northern Emirates. These activities focused on road travel safety, driver and passenger health, avoiding leaving children in vehicles, carrying first aid kits, staying hydrated, avoiding heavy meals before trips, wearing sunglasses for better vision, alternating drivers when tired or unwell, not leaving medicines in cars, ensuring good ventilation, and taking breaks every two hours.
Al Rand expressed appreciation for MoI's unified traffic awareness campaigns that align with MoHAP’s mission to promote a culture of health responsibility both individually and collectively. He mentioned their commitment to providing clear impact measurement methodologies and joint performance indicators to help decision-makers improve policies effectively.
Collaborative Efforts for Community Safety
The collaboration between MoHAP and MoI underscores their dedication to community safety on roads. Al Harthi stressed their ongoing commitment to raising community awareness about preventive measures that safeguard lives. This partnership demonstrates how integrating efforts among various entities enhances their ability to protect society.
The proactive approach adopted by MoHAP involves offering prevention strategies along with readiness plans as essential tools for safeguarding quality of life in the UAE. This reflects their core values that prioritise people’s wellbeing above all else while recognising protecting life as a shared responsibility.
This comprehensive initiative not only promotes public health but also aims at building a preventive society where everyone enjoys sustainable health benefits throughout summer months without compromising happiness or wellbeing.
