Sultan Bin Ahmed Engages Key Media Stakeholders At Global Media Congress In Abu Dhabi
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, participated in the third session of the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by several officials, including Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed and Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, among others. The event attracted numerous media professionals who extended their greetings to Sheikh Sultan.
Sheikh Sultan began his visit by exploring the UAE Media Council pavilion. He learned about its initiatives aimed at strengthening media relations with various institutions across the country. His tour continued at the Sharjah pavilion, which highlights the efforts of the Sharjah Media Council through various platforms showcasing key media projects from relevant authorities.
The Sharjah pavilion reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, focusing on promoting stability and cohesion within society. It emphasises preserving identity, history, and Arab-Islamic heritage while supporting talented individuals in producing meaningful content. This approach underscores Sharjah's leading role in the media landscape.
During his visit, Sheikh Sultan received an overview of modern technical solutions used by government media agencies in Sharjah. These initiatives align with directives to adopt new technologies for developing media tools and enhancing content production for the community. The aim is to improve dissemination of purposeful content.
A session titled "Integration between Agriculture and Investment: Sustainable Food Security" featured insights from Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji and Hussein Mohammed Al Mahmoudi. Moderated by Ahmed Sultan, it highlighted Sharjah’s comprehensive approach to sustainable development through agricultural investments like the Mleiha wheat farm project.
The Mleiha wheat farm utilises smart farming techniques to boost local agricultural production while protecting the environment. This initiative aligns with Sharjah’s efforts to conserve natural resources for future generations. Additionally, the Mleiha Dairy Farm project implements modern technologies to minimise environmental impact.
Media Specialisations and Labour Market Alignment
A debate on "Media Specialisations: Academic Courses and the Labor Market" featured Fadhila Al Muaini and Dr. Abeer Al Najjar. Moderated by Waleed Al Asbahi, it focused on aligning academic programmes with labour market needs. The discussion emphasised updating courses to keep pace with technological advancements shaping media landscapes.
The speakers examined how well academic programmes prepare students with practical skills that blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. They stressed the importance of a stronger connection between academic studies and real-world applications in media education.
Training Workshops at Sharjah Pavilion
The second day of the Congress saw four engaging training programmes hosted at the Sharjah pavilion. These included exploring AI applications in media, mastering content creation with AI, effective social media writing, and leveraging media platforms for youth empowerment.
Trainer Ahmed Khalifa led a workshop on content creation using AI, sharing strategies for crafting texts effectively with generative AI programmes. He discussed best practices for their application and ways to balance successful digital content creation.
Empowering Youth Through Media Platforms
A workshop titled "Media Platforms as Tools for Empowering Youth," led by Fatima Al Balushi, provided insights into how media shapes young people's awareness. Participants explored effective ways to utilise digital platforms and technology while developing essential media skills.
The workshop introduced key media values vital in today’s digital landscape and highlighted tools contributing to these goals. Attendees gained valuable knowledge on leveraging media platforms for empowering youth effectively.
The Global Media Congress continues to serve as a platform for discussing significant topics related to media development and innovation in Sharjah and beyond. Through various sessions and workshops, it fosters dialogue on sustainable practices across different sectors while highlighting Sharjah's commitment to advancing its role in global media landscapes.
