Sultan Bin Ahmed And Egypt's Minister Of Higher Education Discuss Strategic Educational Partnership

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, met with Dr Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting took place at the ministry's office in Egypt's New Administrative Capital. Sheikh Sultan conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Sheikh Sultan expressed pride in the robust relationship between the UAE, particularly Sharjah, and Egypt. He highlighted how their joint efforts in education and research are advancing higher education in both nations, benefiting their communities. The Deputy Ruler praised the Egyptian Ministry for its role in establishing a branch of the University of Sharjah in Cairo.

The University of Sharjah is recognised as one of the leading universities in the Arab world. The decision to open a branch in Egypt was based on Egypt's esteemed reputation in education. Dr Ashour welcomed Sheikh Sultan warmly and emphasised the strong ties between Egypt and the UAE. He expressed Egypt's desire to deepen this connection through enhanced collaboration in education and research.

Dr Ashour stressed the importance of supporting academic and research collaboration between educational institutions in both countries. He highlighted the need to improve communication to create more opportunities for scientific cooperation. These efforts aim to meet both nations' needs while developing skills and knowledge among their people.

The discussions included ways to enhance collaboration between the University of Sharjah and Egyptian universities. They explored ideas for sharing knowledge and faculty members, as well as creating joint programs that benefit students and align with job market demands. Both sides discussed facilitating student exchanges between these institutions.

Student visits would allow them to explore different educational programs and engage in various academic and cultural activities. This initiative aims to enrich students' learning experiences by providing diverse opportunities for personal growth.

The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides. From Sharjah, Dr Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, and Dr Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi were present. Representing Egypt were Dr Abdul Wahab Ezzat, Dr Mohamed Al Sharqawi, and Dr Adel Abdel Ghaffar.
