Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Celebrates Winners Of Inaugural Tamayuz Excellence Awards In Sharjah
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, recognised the winners of the inaugural "Tamayuz" Excellence Award. The award ceremony took place on Thursday evening and celebrated achievements across various institutions led by H.H. Sheikh Sultan. The initiative aims to foster a competitive environment among government and private entities, focusing on enhancing institutional efficiency and performance improvement.
The University of Sharjah was awarded for its excellence in governance implementation, while Invest Bank topped the category for best financial oversight. Sharjah Media City "Shams" received recognition for its outstanding secret shopper reports, and the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority's "Maraya" application won in the smart application category. Additionally, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau was honoured for having the best website with its "Sharjah Events" site.
The University of Sharjah also excelled in customer service, winning the best contact centre award based on secret shopper evaluations. Arada Company was acknowledged for its "City Walk Sales Centre," receiving the best service centre award. Furthermore, Sharjah Media City "Shams" secured awards for both customer happiness and employee happiness categories.
Outstanding practices were highlighted through awards given to initiatives such as "Create with Shams" by Sharjah Media City "Shams," "House for House" by Arada, and the "Maraya Platform" by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. These initiatives exemplify innovative approaches within their respective fields.
During his speech at the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Sultan emphasised that the award serves as a tool to achieve strategic goals rather than an end goal itself. He stressed creating a work system marked by strategic agility and competitive capability through collective efforts. He also highlighted that showcasing best practices is crucial for establishing a transparent governance system.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan addressed requests to expand award categories in future editions but preferred to study results from this edition first. He maintained that judges should select winners without introducing new special recognition categories chosen personally by him, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process.
Training and Development Initiatives
The event featured a visual presentation titled "Excellence is a Decision, a Renewed Vision, and an Ambition that Races Against Time." This presentation outlined the award's objectives and highlighted participation from various institutions alongside efforts made by teams to showcase excellence.
The award programme included six training workshops attended by over 300 individuals, promoting continuous development through knowledge sharing. Eight awareness publications were released to cultivate a culture of excellence among participants.
Engagement Through Surveys
A customer happiness survey saw participation from over 55,000 customers, while an employee survey included more than 5,000 workers. Additionally, there were over 530 evaluations conducted by secret shoppers assessing service channels' effectiveness.
The launch of the "Tamayuz" platform facilitated clear and transparent submission of participant files with over a thousand documents uploaded onto it. Managed by eight excellence teams consisting of 33 members, this platform also generated 500 reports from secret shoppers.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan honoured judging and evaluation teams with commemorative shields during the ceremony as appreciation for their efforts throughout this period.
