Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme Approves 14,000 Housing Decisions Over Three Years With Future Plans For One-Day Issuance
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, under the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, has sanctioned 14,000 housing decisions in the last three years. These decisions encompass government housing units and financing solutions, developed in partnership with national banks. The programme includes housing finance decisions, loans, and grants for low-income citizens.
Eng. Mohamed Al Mansoori, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, highlighted at the Forbes Middle East "Building the Future" Summit in Abu Dhabi that innovative financing policies have been pivotal. The private sector's involvement in funding housing decisions has surpassed 70%, significantly contributing to these advancements.

Al Mansoori also mentioned that the programme is exploring mechanisms to issue proactive housing decisions for citizens without requiring applications. This initiative aims to provide immediate support upon marriage, aligning with Emirati aspirations and promoting social welfare and family stability.
The homeownership rate among citizens has reached an impressive 91%, ranking among the highest worldwide. This achievement reflects the programme's success in reducing the waiting list for housing decisions by over 95%, ensuring more citizens can access housing promptly.
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme is committed to forecasting future government housing needs in the UAE. It collaborates with public and private sectors through initiatives and plans that guarantee a decent living standard for citizens.
Future Plans and Goals
Al Mansoori stated that future plans aim to issue housing decisions within a single day, directly linked to budgets. This aligns with directives from wise leadership, aiming to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
The programme continues its efforts to anticipate future solutions and needs by working closely with relevant authorities. These efforts ensure that citizens enjoy a high quality of life through comprehensive facilitation measures.
