The discussions also highlighted Dubai’s strategic plans for the automotive sector. One significant initiative is the development of the ‘Dubai Car Market,’ which is set to be the largest and most advanced of its kind globally. This market will connect with 77 ports worldwide, enhancing Dubai's status in the automotive trade sector.

The development of this car market aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This agenda aims to position Dubai among the top three urban economies globally by 2033. The car market project supports this goal by boosting Dubai's prominence in the automotive industry.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also discussed how the UAE’s supportive platform can help global automotive companies access new markets and achieve long-term growth. He noted that the UAE’s exceptional logistics capabilities and global trading connectivity make it an ideal base for these companies looking to expand their global footprint.

Nissan's Presence in the Middle East

Nissan recently unveiled its all-new Patrol from the UAE, underscoring the country's pivotal role in Nissan’s global strategy. Nissan was the first Japanese carmaker to establish a regional headquarters in the Middle East, setting up an office in Dubai under Nissan Middle East in 1994.

Today, Nissan Middle East operates across 22 countries, from Azerbaijan to Yemen and from Turkiye to Turkmenistan. Globally, Nissan employs around 250,000 people and is considered a pioneer in zero-emission vehicle technology.

Nissan's Global Operations

Nissan manufactures vehicles in 20 countries and offers products and services in over 160 countries worldwide. In fiscal year 2023 ending 31 March 2024, Nissan achieved an operating profit of 568.7 billion yen, marking a 51 percent increase year-on-year. Consolidated net revenue stood at 12.68 trillion yen with global sales reaching 3.44 million units.
