Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum Celebrates Humanitarian Achievements In Dubai
Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, a significant event unfolded in Dubai, marking the eleventh edition of the Watani Al Emarat Humanitarian Work Award. The ceremony, presided over by H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, was not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of the UAE's commitment to humanitarian causes. Themed ‘This is What Zayed Loved’, the award ceremony underscored the enduring legacy of philanthropy and community service in the Emirati society.
The Watani Al Emarat Humanitarian Work Award is a beacon for those who embody the values of generosity, goodness, and tolerance. It serves as a platform to acknowledge and honor individuals, organizations, and entities that have set benchmarks in humanitarian efforts while inspiring others to follow suit. The award aligns with the strategic objectives of the UAE and its Centennial Plan 2071, aiming to instill a culture of giving, solidarity, and kindness across the nation.
Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, Executive Director of the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, expressed his delight in recognizing the awardees' contributions to society. He emphasized that the award transcends mere recognition; it is a testament to the UAE's dedication to continuing the philanthropic legacy inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The awardees' efforts have significantly contributed to community betterment and laid a strong foundation for future humanitarian initiatives.
The ceremony saw a diverse group of distinguished recipients being honored for their exceptional contributions to humanitarianism and community engagement. Among them was Sheikha Moza bint Hilal bin Saqr bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who received the prestigious ‘Golden Imprint’ award. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri was honored with the ‘Exceptional Imprint’ award for his significant contributions. Other notable awardees included Hamdi Muhammad Sabri Tawfiq Al-Tabbaa with the ‘Imprint of Tolerance’ award and Major General Ali Hassan Almutawa who received the ‘Imprint of Creativity’ award.
The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) was acknowledged with the ‘Imprint of Homeland’ award for its pivotal role in enhancing electronic security. Dr. Noura Nasser Alkarbi and Professor Noura Yousef Al-Balushi were recognized with the ‘Imprint of Culture’ and ‘Imprint of Science’ awards respectively, highlighting their contributions to academia and research. The Dubai Courts received the ‘Imprint of Hope’ award for their efforts in promoting justice and hope within the community.
Salem Mohammed Balrakkad Alamiri was honored with the ‘Imprint of Society’ award for his work with the Emirates Cancer Society, demonstrating a commitment to health and wellbeing. Additionally, Shyam Bhatia's contributions to sports were celebrated with the ‘Sports Imprint’ (Unlimited Abilities) award, showcasing the impact of sports on societal integration and empowerment.
