Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, presided over a pivotal Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) meeting. The assembly, which also saw the participation of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Deputy Chairmen of the SEC, unfolded on Tuesday morning at the Crown Prince's office.
The council delved into a variety of government-related topics with the objective of serving multiple sectors. It reviewed the advancement of developmental projects across the emirate's cities and regions. A key focus was on decisions that promise to uplift citizens, bolster social stability, and ameliorate the living conditions of Sharjah's populace.
Under the guidance of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the council greenlit the development and organisation project for Al Badayer area. Recognised for its natural beauty and potential as a tourist haven, Al Badayer is set to undergo transformational development aimed at enhancing its appeal to visitors and residents alike.
The project encompasses a comprehensive plan to introduce tourist, service, and recreational facilities that highlight Al Badayer's unique environmental and tourism characteristics. It aims to attract a broader audience by offering a variety of desert sports and activities suitable for all age groups. The initiative is expected to invigorate the economic landscape in Al Badayer by creating new economic opportunities in line with the growing influx of tourists.
Planned facilities include a public park, viewing platforms, designated camping sites for families and non-families, a mosque, ample parking spaces, food truck areas, and tractor sites. These additions are anticipated to significantly enhance the visitor experience in Al Badayer.
Additionally, the council received updates on the plans from the Department of Suburbs Affairs aimed at achieving its objectives. These plans are rooted in the vision of Sharjah's ruler to foster social cohesion, ensure family stability, and cater to the needs of residents in the suburbs. This strategic approach involves close coordination with strategic partners to effectively meet these goals.
This series of initiatives underscores Sharjah's commitment to developing its regions comprehensively, focusing not only on economic growth but also on improving quality of life for its residents. Through such projects, Sharjah continues to cement its position as a leading destination for tourism and an ideal place for living within the UAE.
