Sharjah's Leadership Reinforces Support For Female Entrepreneurs With Council Reorganisation

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree to reorganise the Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC). This decree grants the council legal personality and full capacity to undertake necessary legal actions to achieve its goals and responsibilities.

The decree specifies several objectives for the SBWC. These include enhancing the status of businesswomen in Sharjah both locally and internationally. It aims to create a sustainable environment that supports female entrepreneurs and businesswomen. Additionally, it seeks to change cultural attitudes towards women in various business sectors.

Boost for Sharjah's Female Entrepreneurs

Another goal is to encourage competitiveness among female entrepreneurs. The council also aims to facilitate women's participation in economic activities by helping them overcome obstacles they face.

The SBWC will be managed by a president appointed by the honorary president, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. A director, also appointed by the honorary president, will assist in managing the council along with a sufficient number of employees.

The council will have financial, administrative, and technical independence. It is recognised as one of the institutions affiliated with H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi.

Legal Aspects and Resources

The decree also addresses several legal aspects related to the council's operations. These include regulations on the advisory committee, financial resources, use of specialised agencies, organisational structure, exemptions, replacement, enforcement, and publication.

The SBWC's main office will be located in Sharjah. However, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi may establish branches and offices in other cities and regions within the emirate through her decision.

According to the decree, the council’s English name will be "Sharjah Business Women Council," abbreviated as "SBWC." This name reflects its mission to support businesswomen across Sharjah.

This reorganisation aims to empower women in business by providing them with a supportive environment and overcoming challenges they face in economic activities.
