Sharjah Real Estate Boosts Digital Services With Kalba, Al Dhaid Councils

The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD) has entered into a memorandum of cooperation with the Municipal Councils of Kalba and Al-Dhaid. This initiative is part of Sharjah's digital transformation strategy, aiming to streamline real estate procedures for clients in these cities through electronic services.

The agreement allows Kalba and Al-Dhaid Municipalities to access and inquire about real estate data via an electronic service known as Web Service. Clients in these cities can now obtain property statement certificates directly from their municipal council buildings without needing to visit SRERD’s office. This move is expected to significantly ease the process for real estate clients.

Digital Leap in Sharjah Real Estate

Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director-General of SRERD, Dr. Obaid Al-Zaabi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Kalba, and Dr. Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al-Ketbi, Chairman of Al Dhaid Municipal Council, signed the memorandum. The signing ceremony was also attended by Abdul Aziz Rashid Al-Saleh, Director of SRERD, along with several other officials.

Al Shamsi highlighted that the E-linking projects will create an integrated business system. This system aims to attract investors by offering easy and efficient real estate services at record speeds, reducing centralization. He noted that this would save time and effort while improving the quality of real estate services in Sharjah.

Additionally, SRERD will provide both Municipal Councils with detailed instructions on using the new system. The councils will nominate suitable officials and employees who will submit property inquiry requests electronically to SRERD.

Significant Impact on Clients

Al Shamsi pointed out that "The number of electronic certificates for benefiting and inquiring about properties for entities with which cooperation agreements were signed had reached 14,000 until the end of August 2024." This indicates that the department has successfully reduced procedure times for many clients and beneficiaries through this service.

This memorandum aims to facilitate smoother transactions and enhance client satisfaction by leveraging digital tools. The initiative reflects a broader trend towards digitalisation in Sharjah's public services sector.

The collaboration between SRERD and the municipal councils is expected to bring substantial benefits to real estate clients in Kalba and Al-Dhaid. By simplifying access to property data, it aims to foster a more efficient and investor-friendly environment.

This strategic move aligns with Sharjah's ongoing efforts to modernise its public service offerings through technological advancements. It underscores the importance of digital transformation in improving service delivery across various sectors.
