Sharjah Introduces Best Volunteer Idea Challenge To Inspire Community Engagement And Innovation
The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, in partnership with the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, has introduced a new initiative called "12 Challenges in 12 Months." The first challenge for January is named "Best Volunteer Idea." This initiative aims to foster volunteerism by encouraging individuals and organisations to propose innovative ideas that support sustainable community development.
Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, highlighted the initiative's goal to inspire creativity in volunteerism. She stated, "The '12 Challenges in 12 Months' initiative is driven by the award's commitment to fostering innovation in volunteerism and inspiring the community to present creative ideas that contribute to serving the nation and achieving sustainable development."

Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, stressed that these monthly challenges are crafted to broaden community involvement. She noted that this approach allows everyone to showcase their volunteer creativity effectively. Al Hammadi remarked that this effort underscores the Sharjah Volunteer Centre's dedication to nurturing creativity in volunteer work and enhancing social responsibility values.
The initiative's unique feature lies in its monthly challenges, each identified by a specific name and hashtag. This structure encourages community engagement without competition, reinforcing a spirit of dedication and giving. The organisers urge community members to participate by submitting impactful volunteer ideas that benefit society.
This initiative seeks not only to inspire new volunteering methods but also aims to spread a culture of volunteering throughout society. It forms part of a larger strategy designed to embed volunteerism as a lasting societal value. By providing an interactive platform, it stimulates community participation and involves individuals in social responsibility projects.
Al Hammadi added that this represents a significant step forward in motivating individuals to present innovative ideas that contribute to promoting volunteerism and achieving sustainable development. The call is open for everyone to express their creativity through impactful volunteer projects.
The organisers believe these challenges will enhance the culture of volunteerism across all segments of society. They encourage individuals and organisations alike to harness their energy and creativity for meaningful contributions.
