Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, expressed that when His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi made knowledge central to Sharjah's cultural vision, it positioned the emirate as a global hub for culture and learning. Under H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi's leadership, SBA continues to promote this vision through initiatives enhancing libraries' roles in community development and sustainable progress.

Mansour Al Hassani, General Coordinator of Professional Conferences at SBA, noted that SILC brings together professionals who believe that strengthening knowledge institutions is crucial for the future. He stated, "Libraries today go beyond book collections—they are dynamic spaces for digital innovation, community engagement, and cultural policymaking. By investing in libraries, we invest in people, education, and the sustainable growth of our societies."

Since its inception in 2014, SILC has become a leading regional platform for librarians, educators, and policymakers. Over time, it has produced strategic recommendations that have influenced regional library policies. These efforts have enhanced professional development and strengthened libraries' roles in community and cultural advancement globally.

Al Ameri further highlighted that "Libraries have always been engines of progress and innovation." He added that SILC builds on this legacy by offering a platform for global cooperation, policy development, and idea exchange to maintain libraries as essential spaces for dialogue, creativity, and knowledge sharing.

The conference aims to empower knowledge institutions by providing a space where ideas can be exchanged freely among global participants. This initiative underscores libraries' importance as dynamic centres for innovation rather than mere repositories of books. Through these efforts, SILC continues to contribute significantly to shaping the future landscape of libraries worldwide.
