Sharjah Showcases Innovative Digital Technologies At GITEX Global 2024 To Enhance Government Services
The Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2024, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, drew considerable interest from tech experts and visitors. The pavilion showcased Sharjah's latest digital innovations aimed at boosting digital transformation and improving government services. This attracted significant attention from attendees eager to learn about these advancements.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who chairs the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion and leads the Sharjah Digital Authority, visited several other pavilions. At the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, he was welcomed by Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Government Empowerment Department in Abu Dhabi. Here, Sheikh Saud learned about AI-driven digital solutions enhancing customer experiences and promoting innovation in government operations.

The Sharjah Sports Council has launched an app called "Hakam" (Referee) as part of its initiatives for the Sharjah Sports Challenge. Developed with Sharjah Municipality, this app encourages public engagement in physical activities by helping users locate parks and participate in sports challenges. It also allows users to monitor their health metrics.
In addition, the Holy Quran Academy of Sharjah introduced the "Tilawa" (Quranic Recitation) app. This application uses AI to offer a comprehensive experience in Quran recitation, correction, and comparison across different readings. Users can record their recitations for future review, enhancing their learning experience.
The Sharjah Agriculture and Livestock Department offered virtual tours of its wheat and dairy farms during the event. At the Sharjah Wheat Farm, advanced biotechnology has enabled the cultivation of 550 non-GMO wheat varieties. Meanwhile, Mleiha Dairy Farm employs smart collars and robots to ensure cattle welfare through advanced monitoring systems.
The projects featured at the Sharjah Government Pavilion reflect a strong commitment to adopting cutting-edge digital solutions. These initiatives aim to improve efficiency, flexibility, and speed within government operations across various sectors.
AI-Driven Financial Analysis
The Sharjah Central Finance Department unveiled the "Al-Mustashrif" (Sharjah Future) app at GITEX Global 2024. This application uses AI to analyse financial data collected over 25 years. It provides precise forecasts for government revenues and expenditures while facilitating efficient resource planning.
Sheikh Saud also explored other pavilions like those of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and Dubai Digital Authority. These visits highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance digital governance through innovative technologies.
