Sharjah Government Communication Award Invites Global Innovators For 2025 Edition Submissions

The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) is now accepting entries for its 12th edition. Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, this award is open to government bodies, individuals, and organisations worldwide. Participants are encouraged to submit their innovative media and communication content for a chance to be honoured at a ceremony in September.

This year, submissions are open until July 24, with 23 categories across five sectors: Government Agencies, International Organisations, Private Sector Awards, Individual Awards, Partner Awards, and Jury Awards. The SGCA is renowned for recognising excellence in communication across various sectors globally. In its last edition, it attracted nearly 3,820 entries from 44 countries.

Call for Entries: Sharjah Communication Award 2025

The award aims to promote effective communication practices that enhance government transparency and build community trust. It encourages storytelling that engages the public and aligns with their evolving needs. The focus is on content that supports public policy through clear messaging.

In the previous cycle, the Best Media and Communication Content category saw fierce competition among government agencies, international organisations, and private sector participants. This category celebrates content that raises awareness and fosters dialogue on critical issues using media tools effectively.

Egypt’s Cabinet Information and Decision Support Centre won first place in the government sub-category. They competed against Saudi Arabia's National Centre for Meteorology and Bahrain's Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. In the private sector sub-category, finalists included Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans from Jordan, Oranaa Marketing Services from UAE, and Spacetoon from Syria.

Al Aman Fund's Notable Achievement

Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans secured first place in the private sector category. Their campaign was recognised as a model of effective communication aimed at empowering orphaned youth over eighteen. It used both traditional and modern tools to engage with the public and policymakers.

Tariq Al-Kharabsheh from Al Aman Fund expressed gratitude: "We are honoured to be among the three Jordanian institutions that reached the finals in multiple categories out of 64 institutions from 12 Arab countries. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Sharjah Government Media Bureau for organising this pioneering award and for its continued support in highlighting purposeful social initiatives."

Encouraging Global Exchange

Participation offers global recognition opportunities while serving as a platform for sharing experiences and learning from international best practices. As preparations continue for this year's awards during September's International Government Communication Forum, entities worldwide are invited to share their impactful stories.

Organisers stress that winning signifies a journey driven by purpose rather than an end goal. They invite anyone with a meaningful message striving to make societal differences to participate in this prestigious award judged by leading media experts.

The SGCA continues to play a significant role regionally and globally by encouraging impactful communication practices across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
