Sharjah Finance Department Hosts Fifth Financial Forum To Enhance Financial Governance And Digital Transformation
The Sharjah Finance Department recently hosted the Fifth Financial Forum, aiming to improve government financial systems and develop national talent in line with global standards. This initiative seeks to position Sharjah as a leader in sound financial management and digital transformation. Over 250 participants, including officials and experts, attended to discuss initiatives that enhance performance efficiency, revenue systems, transparency, and financial governance in Sharjah.
Hoda Al Yasi, Director of the Financial System Department at the Sharjah Finance Department, highlighted the forum's role in promoting efficient financial systems and developing work mechanisms based on international best practices. She noted that the strong attendance underscores the commitment of various government institutions in Sharjah to create an integrated financial vision supporting resource sustainability and enhancing governance and transparency.

Al Yasi further explained that this event serves as a strategic platform for fostering institutional cooperation among government departments. It allows for reviewing key initiatives and innovations aligned with Sharjah's comprehensive digital transformation goals. The forum facilitates experience exchange and collaboration across sectors, advancing the government financial system to more effective levels.
The forum featured discussions on updating data for the Sharjah Social Security Fund. A video presentation highlighted this step's significance as a fundamental pillar for protecting subscribers' rights and complying with legal requirements. It also emphasised its role in streamlining operations and reducing errors.
Nasser Kashwani, Director of the Financial Training Centre, presented notable training initiatives like the Public Finance Leadership Diploma. This programme aims to cultivate a new generation of national financial leaders. He also announced preparations for launching the second batch of finance department heads and introduced plans for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification in collaboration with the Institute of Management Accountants in 2026.
Meera Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Head of the Financial Systems and Smart Applications Department at the Sharjah Finance Department, discussed the "Tahseel" smart system. This innovative system enhances security and transparency in government revenues through complete automation, facilitating procedures efficiently.
Showcasing Digital Innovations
The forum concluded with a presentation by the Sharjah Museums Authority on their digital experience implementing an automated tendering system. This showcases how digital innovations are being integrated into various sectors within Sharjah to improve efficiency and transparency.
Al Yasi confirmed that these initiatives contribute significantly to building national capabilities while reinforcing efficiency and sustainability foundations. They bolster Sharjah's reputation as a model for modern financial management aligned with leadership directives towards a flexible and innovative financial future.
