Sharjah Executive Council Hosts Workshop To Improve Building Permit Processes And Customer Experience
The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Executive Council recently conducted brainstorming sessions over three weeks. These sessions were part of the "Plan Approval and Building Permit" workshop, a segment of the Government Services Design and Development Project. This initiative aims to re-engineer and enhance key government services across various departments.
Held at the Sharjah Municipality headquarters, the workshop focused on creating future models for plan approval and building permit procedures. It was attended by notable officials such as Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Housing Department, and Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs.

The project's primary goal is to improve customer experiences by streamlining processes and reducing transaction times. This aligns with H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi's vision to transform government services in Sharjah. The aim is to better understand customer needs, increase satisfaction, and enhance trust.
In attendance were senior officials from various government departments, including Hamad Jumaa Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Planning and Survey Department; Asma Rashid bin Taliah, Secretary-General of the Executive Council; Sheikh Saud Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department; and Obaid Saeed Al Tuniji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality.
The sessions brought together managers, specialists, and experts from different departments alongside private-sector engineering consultancy firms. Their collective aim was to propose innovative technological and administrative solutions to enhance service delivery. The goal is to ensure a faster and more accurate process for plan approval and building permits.
This project is part of a broader effort by the Sharjah Executive Council Secretariat to implement workshops that design and improve government services across various economic and social sectors. The focus remains on delivering efficient services that elevate the quality of life in Sharjah.
