Sharjah's Data And Community Development Forum Collaborates With Oxford And Birmingham Universities For Enhanced Training

The first Regional Data and Community Development Forum (DCDF) is scheduled for 9th - 10th October. It has formed strategic alliances with Saïd Business School at Oxford University, ranked top in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and Birmingham University, among the top 100 globally. Organised by Sharjah’s Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD), these partnerships aim to enhance data expertise.

Eight specialised workshops will be conducted as part of the forum's agenda. These sessions are designed to equip future data professionals with skills that align with global standards. The workshops are part of a broader programme featuring 24 sessions aimed at knowledge transfer and capacity-building in the data sector.

Sharjah Forum Teams Up with Top Universities

Participants will gain insights from leading trainers from these esteemed institutions. This ensures a high-quality learning experience tailored to current data industry demands. Topics covered include AI technologies, privacy and compliance, ethical technology use, and data analysis and protection.

The two-day event, themed 'Driving Change,' will host over 60 activities highlighting data's crucial role in sectors like healthcare, education, infrastructure, sustainability, technology, and business. The programme includes 18 talks, 20 panel discussions, and an exhibition featuring more than 10 entities showcasing cutting-edge data solutions.

Upon completing the workshops, participants will receive accredited certificates. This initiative marks a significant advancement in fostering knowledge exchange within the data field. It underscores the importance of equipping professionals with skills to navigate an evolving landscape effectively.

The forum's comprehensive approach aims to spotlight how data can drive progress across various sectors. By bringing together experts and stakeholders, it seeks to foster dialogue on leveraging data for societal benefit while addressing challenges such as privacy and ethical considerations.
