Sharjah Chamber Announces Exciting Plans For The 4th Mango Festival In June 2025

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is gearing up to host the fourth Mango Festival at Expo Khor Fakkan from 27th to 29th June 2025. This event, organised with the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan and Khor Fakkan City Municipality, aims to highlight the Eastern Region as a prime agri-tourism spot. It will feature local farmers, agricultural firms, and productive families from across the UAE.

Under the theme "Mango: Our Fruit, Our Wealth," the festival seeks to boost the local economy by empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural quality. It also supports the National Food Security Strategy 2051 by preserving cultural heritage. The festival will display over 150 premium mango varieties and include competitions with prizes, alongside cultural activities.

4th Mango Festival Set for June 2025

Khalil Al Mansouri, Director of Government Relations at SCCI, stated that the Mango Festival is a strategic addition to their events in the Eastern Region. He highlighted its role in supporting agriculture as an economic pillar, contributing to food security and local growth. The festival provides a platform for showcasing diverse local produce and fostering partnerships among farmers and traders.

A key attraction is the "Mango Mazayna" Competition on the first day. Participants must submit locally grown mangoes from their farms or gardens with proof of ownership. Each entry should include one defect-free variety packed in cardboard boxes weighing at least 4 kg. Winning entries will be inspected on-site by judges.

The second day features a "Best Mango Basket" contest for families. Entries must be handmade, modestly decorated baskets containing at least 4 kg of mangoes. Only one basket per family is allowed. The final day hosts a "Best Agriculture-themed Video" contest for children aged 7 to 12, requiring a video submission not exceeding one minute.

The Organising Committee has set June 27 as the deadline for submissions via WhatsApp, accompanied by a child’s ID copy to number: 0566240434. Another highlight is the "Best Farmer’s Booth" competition running throughout the festival. Booths must display locally sourced produce with no fewer than five mango varieties.

Educational Initiatives

The festival also includes educational workshops with agricultural experts offering insights into mango tree care and modern techniques in irrigation, fertilisation, pruning, and pest control. These initiatives aim to improve local agricultural output and facilitate knowledge exchange among farmers and industry professionals.

Competitions are designed to promote excellence among farmers while enhancing marketing techniques and visitor engagement. They aim to raise awareness about agriculture's value within society. The festival's comprehensive approach supports sustainable development goals while celebrating UAE’s rich agricultural heritage.
