The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work recently revealed the winners of its "Environmental Heroes" contest. This initiative aims to boost environmental awareness among children. These videos showcased their talents through acting, storytelling, drawing, or capturing everyday scenes that conveyed important messages. Many young participants submitted diverse creative works and initiatives reflecting their passion for environmental issues.

The competition was launched last June and invited UAE participants to submit high-quality videos suitable for social media sharing.

Suad Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, highlighted the "Environmental Heroes" competition as part of their mission to engage younger generations in community issues. She emphasized the importance of teaching kids about protecting the environment and conserving resources. Al Shamsi believes instilling these values is crucial for building a society ready to tackle environmental challenges responsibly.

Al Shamsi praised the enthusiastic participation of young people, noting it reflects a growing awareness of environmental care's importance. She expressed appreciation for all participants, highlighting their creative ideas and initiatives. She also mentioned plans to continue offering similar opportunities in the future to encourage youth involvement in community service and foster a spirit of volunteering.

The competition required videos to clearly convey an environmental message while being creatively made and respecting copyright laws. Judges evaluated entries based on message clarity, presentation creativity, digital platform appeal, and sound and visual quality.
