SGCA 2025 Calls For Submissions From Researchers And Spokespeople In Government Communication
The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) 2025 is now accepting entries. It aims to recognise individuals shaping public discourse. Two highlighted categories are Best Research in Communication Sciences and Best Official Spokesperson. These categories, part of a broader set of 23, underscore SGCA’s dedication to academic excellence, public engagement, and leadership in government communication.
Now in its 12th edition, SGCA continues to spotlight achievements redefining government communication both regionally and globally. Winners will be revealed at the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) on September 10–11, 2025, at Expo Centre Sharjah.

The Best Research in Communication Sciences category celebrates original research or published works that advance government communication science and practice. Open to academic institutions, scholars, and authors, it seeks contributions introducing new methodologies or concepts impacting real-world practices. Emphasis is on sustainability, innovation, and quality of life.
Eligible research must be endorsed by academic bodies or widely recognised within the communication field. Submissions will be judged on methodological rigour, originality, ethical standards adherence, and tangible impact on government communication strategies. Applicants need to provide a full research copy with a 250-word summary, CV, and supporting materials like media coverage or expert reviews.
The Best Official Spokesperson category honours government employees with outstanding communication skills and media presence. The ideal candidate shows clarity and credibility during critical situations. They must have a proven track record of engaging the public across traditional and digital platforms while demonstrating leadership in strategy formulation.
Evaluation criteria include handling tough questions effectively, providing accurate information under pressure, and managing crisis communications. Nominees should submit a detailed 1,000-word narrative of their achievements, a 250-word summary, CVs, recommendation letters, media samples, and analytics showing public engagement or media reach.
SGCA invites global entries from individuals and institutions. Submissions should reflect work completed or significantly updated within the last two years. All entries must meet SGCA's criteria with required documentation for eligibility. The submission deadline is July 24, 2025.
